The Vincent van GoghHuis is a vibrant art centre on the birthplace of one of history’s most famous artists. Not a classical museum, but an active world of experience, for both art lovers and tourists. With a thought-provoking exhibition on the life and work of Vincent van Gogh and interactive education.
The permanent exhibition ‘Vincent van Gogh – The roots of a master’ stands alone, but also serves as a prelude to the temporary exhibitions. The programme of those exhibitions focuses on 20th and 21st century artists who were or are inspired by the work and/or life of Vincent van Gogh.
The Van Gogh Documentation Centre is dedicated to education and science. Pupils and students can use the archive material and an extensive collection of books. For smaller exhibitions the scientific team conducts their research here.
In the Van GoghHuis you can get tourist information at tourist office. A stone’s throw away is the historic Kosterswoning, where artists stay as ‘artist-in-residence’. It also houses a small gallery.
