The Vincent van GoghHuis presents a number of leading and talented Dutch and Flemish artists in a group exhibition called ‘Friction of ideas’ | Antwerp – Zundert. Works of Emo Verkerk, Fred Bervoets, Luc Tuymans, Marlene Dumas, Nel Aerts, Lennart Lahuis, Lieven Segers and Niek Hendrix will be shown.
The exhibition in the border community Zundert offers visitors a chance to find out what is currently happening at both sides of the border in the visual arts field. The cultural relationship between the Netherlands and Flanders is enhanced and deepened.
For the duration of the exhibition four gifted artists – Nel Aerts, Lennart Lahuis, Lieven Segers and Niek Hendrix – will work as ‘artist-in-residence’ in Antwerp and Zundert. They will reflect upon the communal cultural heritage and artistic identity at meetings and presentations.
‘Friction of ideas’ | Antwerp – Zundert is an exchange project of the Vincent van GoghHuis Zundert, the Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp (M HKA) and the international residence project AIR Antwerp as part of the Netherlands – Flanders year BesteBuren.
